Hi, I am new to this site, so am still learning my way around it. I was diagnosed with moderate COPD in july '17, possible knock on effect from double pneumonia I suffered in January this year, as a direct result from my poor immune system (on lifelong chemo from MM) & getting flu which worsened.
However, the seebri powder I use daily I do think has helped, but I also believe that some form of respiratory aid such as a 'ultrabreathe' or a 'Powerbreathe' or a 'salt pipe' will help to improve my breathing.... Has anyone used any of the above & if so to what effect?.... On the flip side, can any of the above aggravate or even do more damage? If anyone out there has any experience from any form of breathing aid, I would be grateful for your comments.

Hi if you put your search criteria in the box at the top right of your page all the previous posts/replies on these will come up. There is lots of info there as they have been discussed a lot on here. x
Hi, thank you so much for your reply... being new to this site I just dived in flapping, without studying it properly. After your advice I was not only able to get more answers, but saw I had missed loads of topics which covered all my apprehensions too.
I've asthma, & went through a few years of extreme exacerbations, pneumonias & infections. I bought the Ultrabreathe having dived a lot in the past. At the time I didn't ask my GP but probably should have. I decided myself that it could help strengthen my lungs, airways & the intercostal muscles amongst others. The mouthpiece is similar to the ones used in diving apparatus. With the Ultrabreathe you can adjust the strength of breath intake from very low gradually as you get stronger over time.
Something to remember is to keep the mouthpiece scrupulously clean, don't need to breathing dust or germs directly in to our lungs. Sorry, I know nothing about the Powerbreathe.
Right now I'm going to write Ultrabreathe in the search bar, top right myself to find out more any info on it. P
Thank you very much for your reply Peege, I have emailed my respiratory nurse, but yet to get a response. My Doctor just referred me to the respiratory team, so will resign myself to a 6 week wait for the appointment.
One important point is you definitely must not use these devices if you have a history of coughing up blood.
Yes, you are so right, i'm not doing that, just coughing up clear phlegm.... a lot, I used to ride my bike a lot, but don't seem to be able to have the energy now.
