Pneumonia Relapse
Pneumonia can take ages to recover from and cannot really be hurried. See BLF advice here:
I am saddened to read you have been so unwell. Sounds like you are overdoing it. You need full rest and plenty of fluids. Should you feel faintly and breathless, I recommend you ask for a home visit or phone emergency services.
Wishing you a prompt recovery x
No wonder you felt rubbish typically recovery is at least 6 weeks when it's bacterial can even be longer. Stay in and rest, take some paracetamol for the fever, Ibruprofen too if you can. Make sure you do not take more than the dose, so keep a note of what your taking and when. Rest is the best cure for this illness so I would suggest you stay in and completely rest for 2 to 3 weeks, then maybe gradually do a little but take your time as like I said it's a long recovery period with this nasty infection.
Like others Have said seems you have Been over doing things. Rest and try to regain a little strength Back I can vouch pneumonia takes time to recover take care .
You must rest. Doing too much is not a good thing. Also, be patient - you have been very ill and it takes a long time to recover even at 29!! Good luck.
It does take time to recover from pneumonia and you need to rest to help it along. xx Moy
As your replies above you must rest and absolutely not 'overdo' anything or you will be storing up lung problems for the future.
The trouble with going to ER (or A&E as we call it) is that your regular GP doctors practice may not be noticing this pneumonia on your record. Each time I've had pneumonia I've had at least two weeks of antibiotics then a follow up sputum test to ensure the bacteria has cleared.
The huffing technique (YouTube) can help with getting that mucus out of your lungs. Any little tiny bit of residual bacteria will inevitably multiply in a warm, damp environment. Pneumonia is quite serious, trust me I know that if you do normal activities you are absolutely not doing yourself or your family any favours. .
UK sites only if you're googling for information to help. Drink plenty of fluids to keep the mucus wet & loose, take everything you can to improve your immune system now and for the next few months. Good luck. P
