Is anyone out there on promixin via I neb? I have 1vial twice a day. How much water do you use to dilute powder before use in I neb. Thank you

Promixin

From the information leaflet medicines.org.uk/emcmobile/... - section 3 explains how to take it and, according to the information " (the instructions
with the nebuliser will tell you the correct volume of liquid to add)." suggests you need to refer to your nebuliser for the quantity. That said, it also says to leave for 10 minutes until all the powder has dissolved so maybe that is a double-check?
Hope it helps.
Best wishes
Thank you for that. The problem is it is not written anywhere how much to dilute with. Philips rep say medical staff have to say and I am having conflicting advice so wondered what everyone else was doing.
Thank you.
Hi, I'm on promixin via the I-neb & I dilute it with 1ml sterile water, or salbutamol if I need it. As you probably know, you can use .9% saline too. To avoid having to use a syringe to draw it up every time, I discovered that 1ml = 18 drops from my Braun plastic water vials, so now I just squeeze that number into the bottle. Of course it'll vary if you don't use the same brand. If you have shaky or arthritic fingers, using a syringe is so fiddly.
