Hi Levina
I assume you've been on them a while? If not you may acclimatise to it/them.
I can't take Spiriva, paralyses my small intestine. Terrible bloating and nausea. Tried switch to Seebri - does the same.
I now take Formoterol twice daily which is a little more inconvenient and a little less effective for me than Spiriva, but doesn't cause me the gut problems.
But there are loads of bronchodilators your GP could try.
I'm mild, bordering moderate copd.
Hope this helps, good luck.
Thank you soulsaver Wel like you said most during the day bloated feeling I also try to use Seebri and this does the same Over all not good for me
Do you use a steroid inhaler with Formoterol
Formoterol doesn't contain a steroid, so if your respiratory team think you need it, they'll prescribe Clenil or the like, as well; or Formoterol in combination with a steroid (symbicort from memory).
I do take daily small dose steroid inhaler, separate as dose too strong in combination.
When you say it makes you feel sick what exactly do you mean and is it all day or only a short period after taking it? Do you get light headed or upset stomach?
Hi levina, both Spiriva and Seebri are in the same class of drugs, anti-muscarinics, which may be why you, and soulsaver who has replied, have had the same symptoms with both drugs (maybe different to each other, but each of you the same with each drug).
I have used both and had to stop both as they each made me so dry mouthed that I couldn't speak.
You could talk to your GP about your side effects and ask to try a drug from a different category.
Thanks O2Trees Thts what I am going to do The reason I wanted to have spiriva or Seebri is that I believe they don't have steroids in them Thanks for your replyregards Levina
