Jim,lots of people do fev's and any other stats you care to throw at them on this site.I am sure someone will give you their interpretation but always with guidance to discuss with your consultant/Gp for authoritative diagnosis and explanation...........regards skis

Hi the FEV1 is your lung function and shows at 73%. I am about the same and class myself as very high moderate stage.

your fev1 says you have 73% ..what that means is that your lungs are working at that % efficientcy rather then the 100% for someone of your age.

as numbers and lung function goes 73%, belive it or not is a very good one to start with.

stay tuned in on this forum and you will find it very helpful.

I have 30% FEV, Due to have more Lung Function Tests in November to see if I could have Reduction? My Consultant doesn't think I would qualify for this, we have discussed Coils & other options ( I forget some of the Names), I am on the Transplant List but time is passing by so quickly, I am getting older so may be one of those Statistics " waiting before a match is available" Sorry Sounds Gloomy and I am always so positive. Can Feel in my Bones the winter starting to come .....Bone Density Scan Today.....Then Off to the Pub.....xxx

Stone is correct; Ignore comments that look at Fev1 in isolation. Your Fev1 appears low vs predicted, but, assuming your blow to be good, it's because you have smaller than average lungs, at FVC 75% predicted. Your Fev1/FVC ratio is in the normal range, suggesting little to no obstruction. What symptoms made you have the test? Are you a(n ex) smoker? What was their diagnosis?

Hi Jimbodunn...I have similar results although slightly lower. My fev is at 69 and FCC at 68 and a ratio of 80. Have not met with my pulmo yet but like you am wondering what this means. Would appreciate you sharing if you find out and I'll do likewise.
