That's shocking JAS but no surprise to me. Pete had his wallet stolen when he was in the Royal Brompton. He had to borrow his train fare home from another inpatient who got paid back a few days later. Disgusting . Hope your dad is as well as he can be. Xxxxx

I had slippers and a new hairbrush go missing last year whilst in hospital. Another patient lost a wristwatch she left in the shower room for 5 minutes before remembering. It seems to be a sign of the times.

Hi Jas, it is truly shocking. My dad died in hospital some 15 years ago now. I frequently had to wash the floor under his bed ; when he had catheter leaks. The day he died his watch was stolen, it beggars belief.

Hi is shocking what go's on.

Sorry to read about what happend to your late farther .. The should be ashamed.

But is all accepted as the norm and thats the trouble ITs not ok or normal.

When i complained i had to hold back as my dad was stuck in there but i told staff If they are mentally depresed the no where the door is and is this job clearly right for you.

Really i wanted to throw the usless unkept charts at them GIVE'em good shake.

The letter i got is comical DOCTOR said he can't comment as notes was not kept upto date.

When my dad was having septic seziours and i went mad at nurse SHE said i cant remmber or even seen my dad having sezures.

Am glad you waa there with your dad AND sounds like you stuck up for him.

Sounds a little like what happened to my Mum before she died in hospital of the result of 3 minor strokes leading to status epilepticus. He found her after the attack and the nurses knew nothing about it. When my Dad came to collect her things after she'd died, the ward staff had lost her false teeth.

Good morning again Jeff, sad story about theives in hospital, but true none the less. Seems nothing has changed in over thirty years. I recall my elderly sick fathers birth certificate disappearing while he was dying in hospital. He always carried it on him for quick access. These are personal things what use are they to others ????? and it causes the patients family such distress this callousness. Good idea you came up with though. :)

May daughter was in GOSH having abscess removed from brain in 1981. Her tape player was stolen during her absence in theatre. Security got involved and it turned out to be the mother of another patient! 'Twas ever thus.
