Good morning lenney007,
I can't actually advise you personally on the spiromax, but if you do a search on it at the top right of the page, there should be posts on the subject. I hope some of them will be helpful to you, and save you some misery. Don't start worrying about seeing the nurse - she is there to help you. I am on Fostair and it suits me perfectly.
Good luck, and let us know how you get on?
It's great having an asthma nurse! I've been seeing mine for years now and it's a good opportunity to talk about what works and what doesn't. My nurse referred me to a consultant at the hospital because my saturation results weren't improving. I've chronic asthma from being a child and in them days you were just admitted to hospital, which I hated and still do but this stops the need for that. I'm on a combined spray twice a day and my blue inhaler and Monteleucast meds. I was given Spiromax many years ago but it wasn't strong enough for me and the tablet inhalers actually cause an asthma attack for me so I'm not allowed them. COPD is a different thing but you sound to have similar issues as me.
Talk to your nurse about it that's what the checks are for!
Thank you for the reply my nurse is giveing me a spirometer test & looking into changeing my inhalers have a good day
Hi Lenny I would see the nurse and explain to her some times you have to change your inhalers because they don't work as well x keep well
good luck with your appointment if you tell the nurse she may change you on to something else that suites you better , there are several different ones now
There are new inhalers around, it depends on what suits you best. A lot of them are designed to cut costs, so try any new ones, but if you are not happy, switch back. My copd nurse is no help at all. I am Alpha one and she has no idea that different treatment is required and is available! I hope you have a good nurse, ask lots of questions. Perhaps get bloods checked too, could be something simple. So I was told. Its hard to know if it the inhaler or just a bad spell you are going through. But this is copd not asthma! Good luck and keep in touch
Thank yous for all the replys nurse is giveing me another spirometer test next friday & shes looking into trying out different inhalers dont like the breathing test passed out last time but it has to be done.....use all have a nice day & thanks again for the replys x
I was changed to QVAR, which I have found very effective.
