Lung reduction stents

Hi I was put forward for these stents but didn't qualify had this happened to anyone else then had them fitted at a later date?

A friend of mine was also turned down but she was told that if she exercised and got fitter she could return for another assessment.

Thank you the thing is i didnt even have a meeting with the cvonsultant he went by my lung function tests asnd nuclear scans.

I didn't get them because even though I'm end stage copd I don't have emphysema wich it is for really. I am on transplant list now. X

Hi Jublianna,

I'm due to go for a review with my specialist in 2 weeks time. Lung reduction valves have been mentioned as a possible treatment depending on recent test results which included a ct scan and 6 minute walk test. Are you able to tell me any other criteria used in assessing suitability for this?

i also had lung function tests and nuclear ct scan. but i just know my situation is not suitable for tbe stednts. good luck let me know how you get on.
