Hi I haven't had this but a friend of mine did. They took half a lung away. She was in hospital for around 10 days with 6 weeks recovery period where she was uncomfortable and in a bit of pain. She has been left with a big scar which is now fading nicely.

She said the difference is amazing and she is a lot fitter then before. She is very pleased she had it done.

Good luck with yours though you won't need it. x

Thank you for your reply the op is through keyhole surgery so should not have a big scar hopefully. So glad to hear that your friend benefited from the op. Keeping my fingers crossed that it gives me some quality of life back.

Hi I hope so. They wouldn't do it unless they thought it would help. It isn't suitable for most people. I know in my friends case the damaged part of her lung was impeding the function of the rest of it and with it taken away the lung could work a lot better. x
