Hi everybody, does anyone knows if it's a good idea the swimming pool for somebody who has COPD. Any kind of exercise is good but I'm wondering if the smell of the swimming pool water is good in our condition to breath.
swimming pool smell: Hi everybody, does... - Lung Conditions C...
swimming pool smell
I go swimming the smell is not bad at al in our local pool I find exercise in the pool better for me due to lose back problems
I can't stand the smell of chorine. Personally I wouldn't go near it.
I never had problems with smell it was infection i got of common swimming pool bug.
So if have Immunity issues high infection rate i would give a miss
Like onamission I go to a local pool to do exercises for my back. Not had problem with smell but when COPD is bad I stick to a few exercises and don't swim at all. Just breathing is hard enough!
I like swimming but cant go alone, so tend not to do it. But I found some places use too much Clhorine which effects lung conditions in some people like myself. But the exercise does help to expand the lungs and maybe improve the breathing just like other exercises, Plus it helps the pain of arthritis too.
In Australia a lot of home pools are salt water which is great though no help to you, sorry.
Thank's for your answers guys, think is better to avoid it
