I have PF and PAH and I go swimming with my oxygen. I hire a children's pool which I have to myself. The advantage for me is that I can run and jump in the water which are activities I can no longer do on dry land. I do not know whether it improves my lung capacity but it does make me feel happy. Go for it Sue!

Good for you BugsBunny and how fantastic to know its possible to hire the kiddies pool(presumably, always a small pool) and even with oxygen you seem to have a thoroughly wonderful time! I'm presuming you put your oxi on a lilo? Swimming was something I used to really enjoy but thought it would be too much bother now that I need the oxygen.Keep it up and how lucky to be able to have a pool all of your own soon !!

I go swimming as well, some days I literally have to drag myself there but I always feel better afterwards. The steam room definitely helps my breathing and the hot tub eases my joint pains. So go for it!!

I think you have to be quite careful, as bacteria can flourish in steam. I think there's something called "hot tub lung", probably rare. But otherwise it sounds great!

Yes Hanne62 I had heard of this thanks, but I go to a pool in a hotel and they are very vigilant about hygiene. I asked my consultant's advice and he said, like yourself, it's very rare, and as long as standards are high I'd be grand.
