Can anyone help? My nebuliser switches on and pressure starts but no steam starts. No release of medication. Would be happy for advice.

Maybe filter needs changing or tubing needs renewing. If nothing helps then contact manufacturer. Good luck. Xxxxxx

Ye not enough pressure to turn the liquid into a mist. It is problem with the pump inside.

Sounds like a blockage somewhere. Tell Doctor and see what he says boadicea. Nebulisers are great when they work. Xxx

Hi does the chamber where you put the liquid then have a thing like a stopper you place together before placing the mask on

Sometimes I have forgotten to put this on and it won't work

Hope this helps

Take care

Thanks for reply. All the bits seem to be in the right place and have been washed. Pressure is on but will have to wait till the morning to get farther. Have Salamol Easi-Breathe inhaler so have backup.

Mine does this sometimes.....take the little chamber off from the mask and give it a rinse under the tap, including the loose plastic bit where the steam comes out. Make sure you remember which bit goes where though. Sometimes the previous medication dries in the chamber, and the little hole gets blocked up.

I guess if it's on loan you won't have an instruction leaflet.

Are you managing without the nebuliser if you can't get it to work....have you got enough inhalers to keep your breathing ok?

If you are struggling please ring 111

Another idea, when the medication is in the chamber and it doesn't steam.....sometimes a little shake of the chamber starts it off.

Keep it as upright as you can too, and as the liquid gets less, give it another little shake.

Have a try and see what happens and get back to us if you need.

Good luck

Thank you knitter. Will get that done. So good to have contact with someone who knows what to do. This is my first week with a nebuliser but will get my own one as this has to go back to the surger. I have Salamol. ease-breatheinhaler as backup so not totally dependent although nebuliser is easy. Thank again. I appreciate you taking time to reply.

I would have suggested calling 111 and asking them. There are so many different types of nebuliser that it's difficult to think what the problem might be. Cleaning it would be the the most obvious answer,

Good to see you Gordon.....I listened to your programme the other Sunday. Hope you enjoyed your trip to Chesterfield.

Sounds like the rubbers are gone on the pump the cheapest place who will do it for you eill be a shop that sells fish tanks as it is the same set up in side a fish tank air pump

What i can now under stand by reading all put it on and run hand down pipe to fell for air or try and run pipe down your face as it is more censortive as. If a pin hall that will stop it working

Definitely sounds like a faulty or blocked chamber. Joy.

Mine was the same change filters and tube and mask it should work.

Sometimes I find I have not lined up all the bits correctly. Try turning the medication holder a little round towards the top piece that holds the face mask part. Fiddly but I get it to work OK.

Hi I change and wash the mask every couple of days as sometimes the small vapour delivery part inside the mask becomes blocked. I change the filter every 2 week. But the tubing should be ok for 3 months unless it's kinked. Hope this helps maybe the others have a different way of maintaining the mask.

Hi my nebuliser did the same a few times. I took it apart and it was the little pump motor the little Allen Screw was loose. Any way after doing it a few more times I could not fix it. So had to buy another.
