Just wondering how long it will take for my breathing to get better with this chest infection,been on steroids and antibiotics for over a week and normally my breathing is better by now, I don't seem to be coughing up much phelm now so I think it's clearing, has anyone else been like this, unicorn

Hi everyone is different some get better after one lot of medication some take 2 or 3 before getting better. There are a lot of nasty bugs going around at the moment. I would go back for more medication take care and hope you feel better soon x

You should begin to see and feel an improvement on about day 4 or 5. If you are not then it is worth mentioning this to your GP. They may change the antibiotics immediately.

Had a couple with 4 lots of anti biotics and a couple of weeks of steroids. Always different each time

Hi Unicorn,

My last "fun-time" was in November, after five days there were absolutely no signs of improvement so I contacted the GP another (different) course of AB's kicked in within three days!

I have had chest infections in the past when I have needed 2 lots of antibiotics go back to your GP

If it's a bad infection I usually have 2 different antibiotics before I pull round & steroids for at least 10 days anyone else like this?

Did you know what kind of infection you had...I'm on Azithromycin for my chest infections. Will Steroid help get rid of it? I'm not taking any steroid at this time. Still coughing up yellow/greenish mucus.
