Does anyone have a walk in bath if you have how do you find it.?

Well you go in the bathroom and it's next to the toilet Seriously though I haven't got one but couldn't resist that. A friend of mine did but said the downside is that it takes a while to fill up and empty and that you are stuck in it for that length of time as oviously you couldn't open the door when water is in it. x

What about considering a seat which fits on the side of your bath & slowly lowers you in? I had one from my occ health after I came out of hospital due to bad mobility. I found it very easy to use. You just charge up the unit, fit it to the chair & off you go! Happy bathing 🛀

My son has a bath lift seat, it's placed inside the bath and has a detachable charging unit. It lowers him into the water and lifts him up again after he's finished bathing, I use it from time to time and it's definitely better than struggling to pull myself up. The downside is that you're sitting on a seat that's a couple of inches above the base of the bath, with a backrest that reclines but can't go all the way back - so you can't really lie back and 'wallow'. We bought ours online from Lloyds Chemist, it was £100 cheaper than anywhere else were selling it for, at the time.

I got an estimate once and the cheapest was $11,000 US plus $2 or 3000 more for the remodeling to install it.

The waiting for the bath to fill and empty is a real pain, but some people like them. You still have to dry yourself afterwards though! You can get one for about £2,500, but there will be fitting costs too. Have you looked at the Mangar bath cushion? It is a very simple lifting device that is rechargeable. Costs about £500.

What about a walk in shower with a seat..It will cost you a bit but it's a lot more convenient .

Hi I do know if you are on certain benefits you can get a walk in bath installed free of charge. A friend of mine did. x

After getting stuck in the bath once (not strong enough to lift myself out) I have now found a solution I purchased a shower/bath stool with adjustable height and a swivel seat it fits in the bath and I can now sit on it and shower and find it easy to swizzle round and get out of the bath (only thing I cannot do is wash my bum as do not want slippery backside (so still do that at the sink) - the stool was only about £20 and is great can sit and shower my hair as well - do not know if that helps xx

I spent 7 grand getting a new level floor shower installed thinking I would have an adjustable shower head.I find it very difficult to hold the shower above my head to rinse but I,m left with the same problem.The wet rooms in hospital are great,my bathroom is tiny so I still have great trouble hair washing the steam just stops me breathing.Ended up using a bowl and jug which is what we did when I was three years old! 😡 Having a seat in the shower does make washing easier.D.
