I went to doctors yesterday as I was not feeling good.I got our new doctor she was very thorough I did not have an infection my sats were ok but my peak flow was low so I was put on steroids she is the first go to give me that test do any of you get that on a regular basis.😊

Hi corsaking. I do not know what condition you have. I have COPD and have never had a peak flow test. I thought it was for asthmatics?

I thought so too that's why I was asking .I said to her that I had never had to do this before she did,t say anything.

A peak flow meter is used to diagnose asthma I have one because the gp thought I had asthma until I had a speromitery test to confirm I had COPD my doctor would only give steroids if you were wheezy

Good doc was thorough.

It is possible to have non infectious exacerbation when that give steroids only.

I have a peak flow meter for bronchiectasis. It is a good indicator of any infection.
