I have COPD and take seretide and spiriva. I have had the shock of finding my 43yo son dead on his bed - cause unknown. My dyspnea has gotten much worse over the last 3 days, since his funeral. Can anyone suggest anything that may help? Thanks

I am so very sorry for you tawol, I can't begin to imagine how how traumatic that must have been for you.

I can't give you any practical advice, others, more knowledgable will be along to help with that but, I can well expect that such a shock is bound to have affected your breathing, mainly through the emotional stress you must be in.

Please except my sincere condolences. xx

Dear tawol,I am so sorry for your terrible grief.I lost my son he was 38 .It was bad enough watching him die in hospital from cancer but to find your son like that is awful and a terrible shock to your system.I am asthmatic and the grief brought on attack after attack.I even ended up in hospital on ogygen .I eventually phoned the Samaritans and spoke to a lovely woman and I know now it did help.At the time I could`nt talk about him to anyone, not even my husband or daughter.Grief affects us all differently tawol but please talk to someone.I found out most of the Samarathans have lost a child. If you would like to talk pm me please and know I am thinking of you. margaret. xxxxx

Sorry to hear of your sudden loss of your son, what a shock for you. No wonder your breathing is worse, this may not be best so soon after the funeral but maybe later Cruse can give you details of a group for parents who have lost their child and need to talk, in fact your own GP may have details. I am so sorry I can't remember the name to contact. Take care and look after yourself , take one day at a time and listen to what your body is telling you. Thinking of you Tawol at this very sad time xx

Thinking of you what a terrible time you have been through, it will take a long time to accept the loss of your son if you ever do,but it does become easier to live with.I lost my son aged 36 in 2004 and i still miss him lots. xx
