Isn't it Megan, good morning every one, I bet we know one lady that is waking up with a smile on her face and that news made us all smile as well.
Well as I said I had a great game yesterday but by George my body is wondering what on earth I did to it, as I am aching from backside to breakfast time, my chest feels like I have a ton weight pressing down on it, but I still think it was worth it just for the company and the fresh air and views plus I came home with the same number of balls I went out with I never lost one. The weather is a bit overcast this morning but its not cold and the sun is due here later as its having a lie in today, like some of you I expect. I still want to know what happened to the sleep over we were going to have at the Mount yesterday, it ended up we just me and my sleeping bag (Don't tell me it was the one in Cornwall) and not the one in Devon.
Right this lovely blonde(As all blondes are lovely) went into the library to take out a book as she was told it would help her expand her knowledge of life.
After only a few days she went back and said to the librarian on the counter that she wanted to return the book as it had to many names and numbers in it and it did not make any sense.
The librarian said "Oh so you are the person who took our phone book are you".
A bit more naval history, when you see the armed forces on parade you will see that the Royal Navy salutes with the palm of the hand hidden whilst the Army and Air Force salute with the palm outwards. The reason the palm was shown was to show that no weapon was held in it. But Queen Victoria did not want to see the the rope burns and scars on the sailors hands and ordered that the Royal Navy salutes different from the other forces, showing the back of the hand instead of the palm.
Have a great day everyone I don't think I will be doing much today unless we are all having another day out, if so hope I get it right this time. xxxFred

Good morning to you Lyn we never had any rain which might have cleared the air a bit. Its trying to brighten up a bit. I have no plans really for today as with the golf and running around trying to find you all yesterday, only to go to the wrong Mount, oh well let me know where you are going in advance next time please so I don't miss the sleep over Have a good day our little Welsh robin. xxx
Overcast here in the midlands too fred, the sun made an appearance late afternoon yesterday, so glad u enjoyed ur day, but rest up today Mr.
Its trying hard to brighten up here so fingers crossed we will all get the sun. Its a case of steady as we go today. xx
Skies are clearing and the sun has just come out here in Wiltshire 🌞. Husband would love to have a game of golf, even with a buggy it's a bit too much for him. So pleased though that you had a good day, as you say, fresh air and good companions make for a good time. Take care today and rest those aching muscles 😀😀. Jan xx
Hi there jan, shame hubby can not get out there, that's one reason I push at things now why I can still do them, I know of to many that give into cancer and just sit back and wait, sorry that's not good you do have to be positive and fight the bloody thing, sorry that's my way of thinking.
We have a friend Paul who is wheelchair bound, he comes with us and sits in the buggy with me, ( John is fit and walks) and Paul is the ball spotter which he enjoys and we are helped plus we all three get a laugh and a day out.
Good morning Fred, laughing at your blonde joke😁 well I hope you will be taking it easy today, it sounds like you've been doing a lot of running around.I'm glad to be home after the funeral in Chester..seems it has been very busy here while I was gone,😊 I'm giving you a Royal Navy salute this morning, hope the sun shines on you, it's trying it's best here!hugs huff xxx
I wont ask about the funeral as its not as if its a day out, but rather a sad one in most cases. Yes it seems that we both missed out on the trip to the Mount with cream tea's and maybe even a sleep over, oh well next time pal. Thanks for the salute Hope you got it right love and you kept the fingers together lol
Hi Fred, palms hidden! my grandson Daniel has been on the HMS Victory in Plymouth and on the HMS Belfast in London a couple of years ago, he's 12 now but at the time he was taught how to salute correctly ( then informed me ) and he was allowed to wear the Captains hat on the HMS Victory which he loved!
The funeral was my partners Uncle Charlie who I only met a couple of times. He was known as Champaign Charlie and was a reformed safe - cracker, it was in the local paper He had a good send off, horses and carriage, we listened to Elvis sing 'Don't Cry Daddy' and Sinatra's' I did it my way'..
Fred - you make me smile! Thank you for your posts - the thought of you snuggled in a sleeping bag waiting for others.....! Glad the game was worth it - day of rest in order today then. Have a fab weekend, lots of love TAD xx
Cheers TAD it was alright in the sleeping bag till the zip jammed shut, can you just see me hopping along down the corridor placed all the guests, no not really just dreaming. Have a great day, love Fred xxx
Hi fred, pleased you had a great day & hope the aches & pains soon ease. The telephone book could make for an interesting read _ not. I walked again yesterday, lovely but knees suffered again. Does the chest good though. bright & sunny here but still abed, it doesn,t feel too warm though. Love margaret x
Thanks pal no sun for us today must have used up our quota yesterday, keep smiling.
Oh I missed the sleepover too - didn't even know there had been one It must have been organised whilst I was keeping my head below the parapet (actually I was hiding in the cellar with my puddy cat) I hope you ache less soon neighbour and keep smiling. xx
What were you doing hiding in the cellar with the puddy cat ? Aches nearly gone but a shower and early night is on the cards. xx
Morning Fred, missed you at the Mount, i called round Mandy's way on my scooter to help her carry her oxygen but missed her to! Sounds like you had a fun day yesterday. Xx
Sounds like you had a great day yesterday. I'm assuming you did an 18 hole course so not at all surprised you're beat and have aches in places where you didn't know you had places!! Those golf carts are not exactly built for comfort either.
The sun is shinning here today again so we are very lucky.
Hope you have a good day and the sun appears for you all.
Some of the places I ache I never knew I had, I think I need a good rub down with an oily rag. Sun has not bothered to come out here, several spots of rain but not an April shower. Hope your day was good Sara. xx
Hi there 02 hope all's alright, just my luck to miss the sleep over last night, I could have learnt a lot from all you ladies if I just kept quiet and kept my ears open whilst pretending to be asleep in my oversized double sleeping bag xx
Hi there Fred, hope you are doing ok now and had a really good day. It has been sunny but cooler today. Not complaining though. Had a nice day for MIL 83rd Birthday. She has dementia but knew how old she was. All went well thank goodness.
I have had a steady day really, no sun down here, oh how I had that dementia my poor old mum had it and never knew any of us in the end, The thing is we have no idea whats happening within . Pleased it all went well xxx
Morning Fred, lovely you and your friends had such a good game even if you are paying or it today. Didn't know about the salutes, amazing how you can learn new things. Have a good weekend. best wishes. Bulpit
Did you know Fred that the original way to salute was with the forefinger flat against the forehead (side on) as opposed to having the back or front of the hand against the head? That's because it's the way the knights in armour raised their face shield when presented to anyone....they pushed it with side of their hand from chin to forehead. XX
