Hi there all you lovely people I hope you will allow me back after my absence , I just had to leave as things including the cancer got on top of me, but getting there now I see the oncologist tomorrow for the results of my latest treatment. Margaret has had a replacement shoulder operation after her fall but not able to use her arm very well but could improve, Kate my eldest who is a young widow has been diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease which there is no cure for but we will help her the best we can as she now lives close to us and my granddaughter is home now living with her. I know there are people a lot worse off than me but I let it all get on top of me as other things have been going on within the family as well which happens as people get older, but I have got or getting there now so I am hoping to pop back with you now and again and I will try and get some jokes sorted for a bit later.
I hope you are all managing well and staying positive and keeping that smile going, I can say without any contradiction that I have missed you all from near and far not forgetting those across the pond and further away.
A woman was cleaning her husbands rifle and accidentally shot him. She immediately dialed 999 and said to the operator she had accidentally shot her husband and believed he was dead.
The operator said calm down madam go and make sure he is actually dead".
CLICK BANG okay I have done that....... what do I do now ?
Byeeeeeeeeeeeee for now Fred aka Smiler xx

Welcome back, Fred, could not believe my eyes when I saw your post! sorry to hear of all the health problems in your family, you don't have to keep smiling you know, you are allowed to feel down now and then. Hope Margaret is on the mend, falls really take it out of you. We have some decent weather at last, thats one good thing. this long cold spring has got us all a bit run down I think, even without the serious problems that you and your family are facing. A big welcome back, you have been missed! What a lot you have had to deal with, and still are, but you needed the break and that was the right thing to do for you. I hope things are improving a bit now, and the best of luck tomorrow with your appointment.
As you say, lots of other things are always happening, but just take your time in easing back into things, and just pop in and out as you feel like it.
That's what happens at times, we just plod on, and suddenly it all catches up with us, and we need to stop a while and get off, so to speak.
I don't have any jokes immediately to hand, but will see what I can do later for you.
Take special care, and snuggly hugs winging their way to you now.

Morning Fred, have just been told i have copd, did join this forum in past few days, and 'met' all these lovely people, its a pleasure to meet another that is obviously so well loved. Love seeing how positive everyone is and how they support those that feel a bit low.
Glad I found this place as an injection of humour now and then is sometimes better than what the doctor ordered.

Hi Fred..it is good to hear from you but distressing news! My thoughts are with you and your loved ones and I shall pray for all of you. Even though I haven't been a member for very long, I became very addicted to you. Your spirit is very strong and healthy to reach me over here in Canada. Have missed your daily communication. Hello Fred, how great to have you back! You obviously have a lot of worries in your family, and we all know how that can wear you down. I think you must be a strong man to keep going along with your own illness. As it's said, usually in a sarcastic way "It's being so cheerful that keeps me going" ...in your case, it's the truth! You keep us all cheerful with your jokes and it's lovely to see you here again. Nikki XXX
Thanks for your kind words Nikki you will have me blushing in a moment as I am a shy ex Royal Navy Submariner, but I am pleased that I am getting sorted so I can pop back and be with you at times and its the truth that you are one of the strong ones in my mind. xxxx Fred
