I seem to have been awake all night, like I said before even when I did sleep I was dreaming I was awake, and when I got up I thought I was the only one around as I looked out and it got light, there was not even the usual dog walkers in the fields opposite me, but hay ho at 0630 the sun decided to get up and keep me company and now the walkers are out with the dogs, cars are on the move and I am thinking what do I write today about those lovely blondes.
There is always the one about the blonde who went to Canada to make her fortune as a lumber jack. She met a foreman of a lumber camp who said he would give her a trial.
"Now I hope you realize we expect you to fell at least a 100 trees a day" the foreman told her. The blonde didn't see this as a problem, so picked up the chainsaw the boss gave her and out she went and did her best. She came in sweating like a good one "Right how many trees did you cut down today"? he asked,
"6" she replied.
"What? you will have to do better than that, get up earlier tomorrow" the foreman said. So she did up she got and off she went into the forest with her chain saw. When she came back that night she was exhausted. "How many today" the boss asked? "12" she said.
"Right your last chance I am coming out with you tomorrow morning"
The next morning away they went, when they got to the first tree the foreman said "This is how to cut the trees down quickly." He pull the rip cord on the chainsaw and it burst into life with a loud BRRRRRRRUM, he notices the blonde looking at him frantically, so he asks her whats wrong, and she replies, "What the hell is that?".
Another saying from the Navy. In the days of sailing ships life below decks were very cramped, therefore if a punishment was to be carried out it had to be on deck, as the punishment was by lashes with the cat of nine tails and below decks there Was not enough room to swing a cat.
Also the cat was kept in a red bag so as not to show the blood, and when it was known a punishment was going to be carried out, the word got around That the cat was out the bag.
Have a good day every one, and Lyn don't you forget to feed that lovely robin.
xxxxFred the knackered one.

Morning Fred, suns up in the Midlands today too, I'm off to the hospital bright and early having a 24hr heart monitor on today, then back to supervising the hubby doing the garden, munchies with my granddaughter and that's me probably done for the day lol

For years now whenever I've moved house I always have my little robin follow me, on Saturday I put a bet on the national I always pick my lucky no 2, as I did it my hubby said ur robins looking through the window, I said wkd I'm going to win then.... And I did. Xx sonia xx
I think we all have our own garden Robin mine chases the other birds away a real bossy. When I had a veg garden a robin used to stay approx one spade away watching for some worms or other tit bits. xxx
Safe trip to the hospital Sonia then enjoy your time watching the other half in the garden, all supervisors need a nice comfy chair in the sun with munchies and a Granddaughter for company pure bliss. xxxFred
Hi there my lovely little bird, your looking good with that nice red glow, I have just been out cleaned and filled the bird bath so pop over if you would like to use, I wont watch also I have readied the bird table so you could stay for lunch as well lol Uncertain what I will be doing today other than get my golf clubs and shoes sorted as I am off for a game tomorrow morning, as with this weather I am able to use a golf buggy so able to play around, do you play golf Lyn ? if so we could play around lol The club I belong to is in the Teign Valley and the upper side of the course is on the edge of Dartmoor and the lower 9 holes are in the meadow with the river Teign passing through it, it is a really beautiful setting as there is also plenty of wild life around as well. Its not to far from Chudleigh you might have visited the town when you came down. Right enjoy your day, I hope your son had a good birthday and you had a good visit as well.
My son had a very nice birthday thank you Fred. It's good to see the family too.
No, I don't recall visiting Chudleigh. We went to Dartmoor though...we always headed there first, it was one of our favourite places. We used to stop at a little cafe in Princetown and have breakfast.
I'm not a golf player but I'll carry your clubs for you...lol xxx
Princetown is a lovely place even though you have the prison there, there is a lovely old pub there called The Plume of Feathers in the winter they always have a large open fire going and also do really good lunches. OK you can be my caddy Lyn and if the course is not to busy I will teach you to play around as we go. lol xxx
Lyn we always went there for a picnic with the girls when I would be home on leave, also to Two Bridges as well, I just wish people would take their litter with them when they left. xxxx
Isn't it peaceful there Fred. I like Two Bridges as well, that's the one with the geese in the gardens. I think I love Dartmoor most of all, we always stopped at Badgers holt and that beautiful villiage Cockington. We had a horse and cart ride there up past the cricket grounds to the big house at the top. We loved it. xxx
Well Lyn you just about covered the area, yes that's the one with the geese, and you been to Badgers Holt. As for Cockington sorry to say that the part with the cart ride etc has closed down and the area with all the letters and postcards stuck on the walls has burnt down. OK smarty did you ever get to Becky Falls?
Ohhh nooooo...when did it burn down Fred...that's so sad. Must have been about 2 years since I've been there. I don't recall going to Becky Falls. That doesn't ring any bells. xxx
They have rebuilt the so called old shelter and letters are being added again, but the chap with the horse/ carriages has stopped due to lack of trade and his age. Also there are the Cannon Teign Falls out towards Teign Valley. xxx
Well I'm glad it's been rebuilt. Shame about the horse and carriage rides though, I think that always added a lovely touch...times change don't they Fred. xxx
My god Fred i say there aint enough room to swing a cat nearly every day in my bathroom and never knew it originated from the subs, We live and learn.xxx
Wabbit it came from the old sailing ships not submarines I am pleased to say they had stopped the lashes by then xxx why are you laying down in your photo xx
It was the right way up on my photo page but when i put it on here it came on tired because of the miles it had travelled to get here lol no to be honest the first part was true but when it got on here it lay down and i didn't know how to get it straight again. xxx
Morning Fred, sorry you had a bad night again, lets hope you make up for it tonight.
It is sunny here and nice and warm but having to keep the windows shut for now next doors are having French window and a door cut through the brick (lots of dust) into the conservatory, wish they would hurry up and start so they can finish and I can open the windows again.
Hi Fred, i am so pleased, you are so much better, although i could not see results. You must be feeling well to be off golfing. The course sounds delightful. I am an ex brunette, so i am part of the greys. No not that Grey. I am recovering from a super day at Rufford Park, sunny, trees all thickened up , with a faint haze of spring green. A few early bluebells, if the sun keeps up they will be out in afew days. I plan to picnic out today but the knees are still sore, so we shall see. Love margaret x
Good news for you as well Margaret get out among the blue bells when they are about. Hope the knees are better soon . As for the change to grey, Question how many shades of grey are there ? lol xx
Hi Fred, afternoon here now and the sun is shining so it is nice and warm. Hope you are enjoying your day and maybe taking a nap. Lots of good wishes coming your way. xxxx
Thanks sassy it really is lovely isn't it sat in the sun its so easy to doze off, enjoy whats left of the day xxx
Very late logging on today - husband not good. But I'm here now and cheered up once again by your post. Beautiful weather here and I'm just about to make a cuppa and take it into the garden. Enjoy the rest of your day ☺️. Jan xx
Hi Jan I hope your hubby is feeling somewhat better, I don't know myself as never had to do the job, but it must be very hard being a carer even when its someone you love, so you enjoy your cuppa and a rest in the garden , now don't forget the sun cream. Fred xxx
