Well that's good news. I was reading the link and decided that I had all the symptoms of it then saw 'usually caused by asbestosis' phew!

Hi Coughalot1,

Mesothelioma is caused by the inhalation of asbestos fibres. If you do have any worries please call our Helpline on 03000 030 555.

Kind regards,

Melanie from the BLF

Sounds like good news, I came into contact with Asbestos daily as I was a motor mechanic for 30 years. Car brakes and clutches were made from asbestos and created a lot of dust as they wore out.

My lung condition is an antibody problem they tell me called 'anti-jo 1 pos' which is attacking my lungs.

I have a theory about this, if I have asbestos in my lungs then my immune system would kick in and try to fix the problem but if the problem is asbestos in my lungs then my immune system would keep trying to clear the impossible hence damaging my lungs by trying to fix me. This in tern would result in my lungs becoming inflamed and constantly under attack from my own immune system.

Does anyone have any thoughts about my way of thinking?

Great news it does make sense insurance companies helping as it could save them huge payouts for years to come. I worked for 10 years with asbestos. I have a few lung conditions but they tell me asbestos is not eating me yet!

When I was in ICU in 2008 they were always asking if I had been in contact with Asbestos. I mistaking said no but found in 2011 that I had! But as far as the xrays are showing no broken glass they say I do not at the moment?

Must say Zurich are good if you have home buldings insurance they cover you for employer disputes to

As to research that is great news BUT like you say more still needs to be done ASAP
