Above is a link to the BLF's last online surgery which has recently been uploaded to YouTube for anyone to watch/listen to.
We were joined by Dr John Maher a Consultant in Clinical Immunology at Kings College London. It's a fascinating watch with information on the origins of asbestos, causes of mesothelioma and new research techniques in the disease area.
If you're interested in watching online surgeries live and submitting questions in the future, you can by becoming a BLF member: bit.ly/1011oRK
Enjoy! It really is a fascinating watch.

Carroll, I'm so sorry to hear about your brother - it really is a terrible disease which often isn't diagnosed until it is very developed. The BLF are working hard to raise awareness of the condition and funding a number of research projects to help us understand the disease more, work towards better treatments, and hopefully a cure.

Definitely Caroll! Both tobacco and asbestos have a terrible impact on your lung health and the BLF are taking action against both to ensure future generations are better aware.
COPD is an umbrella term so usually people will have heard of emphysema or chronic bronchitis. To find out more visit: blf.org.uk/Conditions/Detai...
