Within the space of two days of the tests i have been sent for chest xray and been put on a sulbutamol inhaler as required and prednisolone 5mg 8 tablets daily as a single dose.
Doctor says not conclusive but looks like i have a serious lung condition his words.
i have also had a call to atend the surgery respiratory nurse clinic next week.
It is good that your GP surgery has acted so quickly and given you medications that will help you. Let's hope the tests do not show up a serious condition but one that can be managed. Let us know how you get on.
Yes the nurse had tried to get me to do a lung function test last year i had lost a huge amount of weight.
that was when I stopped smoking and went on to ecigs. I had regained my normal weight and realised couldn't keep running away. My breathing is bad but not as bad as was last year. My daughter put her foot down so I am hoping for some relief. The nurse mentioned 31% and then 41%.
I have just been for my yearly lung function test and after having 3 chest infections in 2 months they have sent a sputyum test of. I have to go back middle of January if it's no better going for a CT scan.
I am new to this too and they have classified me as severe COPD. I get oxygen for exercise that I pay for and should have it at night, but my insurance doesn't cover it so ..I guess we will see what happens. I hope your situation is better than the Doctor thinks! What is sulbutamol?
I do live in the USA....I will be covered when I get our Social security pension with medical. Thanks you for the description of the Salbutomol... I will look into it. I cannot use Spiriva it was troublesome to my body.
When you have your lung function test ask for a copy of the results then if you need clarification you can call the British Lung Foundation's excellent helpline:
