Good to hear! Your comment reminds me of a joke my mother used to tell about a woman who had a pet parrot. She would boast to neighbours that the Parrot could sing, telling them if the parrot lifted his right leg he would sing "God Save the Queen" and if he lifted his left leg up, he would sing "Rule Brittannia". Her neighbour, being funny, asked, "what happens if he lifts both legs?" and the parrot squawked "Well I'd fall off the bloody perch!"
Very best wishes to you Don. I'm going out today to meet 4 teaching friends who I worked with at a School during my sixties. A few beers and then a curry from my favourite Pakistan restaurant. I'll toast your health Don.
With keep repeating stuff that I wrote many years ago I was beginning to feel like a parrot.

I dropped my phone in the bath yesterday morning, it was dead when I fished it out so knowing family would panic if they couldn’t contact me I rushed to the local phone shop ( 5 minutes away)to get it fixed or replaced . Returning home ,having left the phone for repair and told to return in two hours ,i was just enjoying a coffee happy in the knowledge that all would be well before anyone knew when my daughter dashed in having used her key and burst into tears wailing “ OMG I thought I was going to find you dead on the floor !!” Apparently my son who lives miles away had tried to ring , panicked and rang 6 family members all of whom were in a state of utter panic!! I was touched of course that they were concerned and quickly came to check but I did say “I think you all need to calm down “ I’d literally been off grid for an hour 😂I have now rectified the situation by buying an iPad in addition to a new phone but I think family might feel better if I was fitted with a GPS tracker 😂. Smudge and I are managing fine really but I’m in the process of trying to get a bit of help on the hygiene front. I can get my car washed and cleaned no problem at all but try to get te same for myself seems near impossible. My daughter lives and works at some kennels 10miles away and doesn’t drive. She has fitted a door-bell video gadget and spies on me from afar. My niece is a member of this group but has no ailments, I asked her to join so she could announce my demise in due course and not leave you all wondering. So we all have our different worries and concerns on this wonderful group of poorly people. 😘
Thank you for replying to me Don, I do worry about you 😘 It is a big problem trying to get someone in to help with bathing. I am sure you know of all the lines of enquiry, so I won’t lecture you on that, but maybe you have to act a bit more pathetic than you might want to 🤣It is ridiculous that you can get your car cleaned more easily!! I must get mine done…..
I am looking after my dad this week (he is only 89!) and I had to be home this morning at 10 to see to housing association roofers mending my gutters. They arrived to tell me that they would have to get a team onto it, they have been telling me this for a year now 🤷♀️ But the point is that I had to arrange for someone to come and sit with dad for the day, which costs money! Arghhhhhhh! 😡
Anyway, I’m glad you’re ok, keep pestering the powers that be and get some help in. It will take the pressure off, you shouldn’t have to struggle. If you still have problems, drop me a line, I am happy to try to help 😊

Hi, Don. Haven't been around much myself lately for one reason or another, but I had missed you too. I look in most mornings but don't always have the opportunity to reply to posts.
We're at our daughter's for half term so thought I'd say, 'Hello' while they're all still snoring.

Socks has been on holiday at the cattery this week as we've been at our daughter's. We collect her on Monday and hope she doesn't sulk! Last time we left her she was just very pleased to be home and was very loving so fingers crossed she'll be like that again.Love to Baby on Socks's behalf. 😺

Good news as I am going out again tonight to the village hall to see a male voice choir and last Saturday night I went to a Halloween disco there which I really enjoyed as well!
Yesterday they rang me to ask am I still going tonight and I said yes I most certainly am and she said there will be a cash bar there and pay for my ticket on the door when I get there!
I have booked for an early dinner at the Fox and Hounds which is just across the road from the village hall which is something to look forward to!
