Is anyone else finding that this weather seems to make wearing a mask better than the cannula? I am finding that my nose is suffering from blockages (hay fever?) and I seem to have a post nasal drip which does not help matters.

Hot Weather & Nasal Cannula
From someone sweating behind a plastic sauna commonly called a face mask. I would say horses for courses. Wish I could breathe through my nose just to ring the changes. Try it though D x
I use a cannula and find it most annoying on these hot sticky nights - I feel like it is 'melting' into my face! My other issue - when out at the beach a couple of times in this hot weather - has been the need to adjust it slightly - pushing the tubing higher or lower across my chees and moving the tubing that usually falls across the front of my neck and chest to the back of me. This is because I was getting a permanent great white 'smile' across my cheeks and a white stripe down my neck and chest while the rest of me got tanned LOL Oh the joys of summer!
Dear Scribe
I wear a cannula during the day and a mask in bed at night. I would say they are both as bad as each other in this hot weather. Apparently, I have been grinding my teeth at night. So from tonight onwards I will have to wear a lower teeth shield with my mask at night. All I am missing is the cherry and cream on the top and I could be a knickerbocker glory!!!
All the best

Up until today I managed with the cannula but have had to put the mask on a was not getting enough oxy down, causing me to pant via mouth and getting even less......what a world!
I normally use a cannula but find I'm gasping for breath in the heat and wondered if using the mask would be better. I tried and it was better, but as the Dormouse said [above], it was like a sauna! I did get more O2 down me though!
What are we like,we brits, always complaining about the weather! Let me join the chorus. Yesterday I was wondering should I depart my cannula which has been causing havoc with nasal passages blocked and dry and go back to the face mask. After using cannula I find the face mask smothering. The best solution I have is using 'Bi-flow cannula'. I call it my nosebag. I find as long as you use oxygen at not less than 5.5 ltrs per min it works the best, a bit like a halfway house between face mask and regular cannula. Thru a 24 hr period I ring the changes between the Bi-flo and the regular cannula . It helps, that and the 'mad dogs and Englishmen...' bit. Don't get sunburnt.
