Yes it is better to get travel insurance but shop around. You should declare emphysema but they will ask questions about medications and hospital visits etc and give you a price
Hello David
Give the BLF a ring, click the red balloon they will know exactly what you need, I know several on here can recommend some insurance companies. Have a lovely time.

Hi David. Yes and yes is the answer to your questions. Use a good quality insurer and declare whatever is wrong with you. Leave nothing out. Have a good holiday.

Tesco insurance were good , as long as you are only on up to two meds for any one condition they'll insure you.
Hi and thanks for the replies.
I shall look into it, I never even thought about saying anything on my insurance about copd (wife always deals with this).
The only thing I take is a dissolvable pain killer for a sore head, now and again.
Thanks again.

Trouble with insurance is they will try everything to avoid paying out! If you eg broke your leg and they found out about COPD they would say you hadn't told them all relevant info and not pay out! Totally agree with Phillips1.
Please take out insurance and also have your European health card EHIC. I have to be honest and say before hubby was diagnosed properly, he'd had a bit of a cold but off we went to Denmark with no insurance apart from the EHIC card, spent the 4 of the 7 days in hospital unable to breathe.
As Bevvy said always best to tell the insurance company everything as they will try to find ways to not pay and they would likely ask for your medical records should anything happen that would necessitate medical assistance and if they find something you did not mention on your application they would likely try to get out of paying even if unrelated to the current medical problem.
