We’re updating our information about going on holiday. We know that it can be tricky to get travel insurance if you have a lung condition, and we’d like to hear from you about your experiences.

Hey Bethany,

I don’t know whether it’s my lung conditions or Lucy’s cancer, or a mixture of the two, but I am unable to get any type of travel insurance for us, from anywhere - even those companies that supposedly specialise in insurance for medical conditions.

It’s totally impossible for us to get any kind of travel insurance.

That's awful Symes. You'd think they'd be able to offer something, even if there were restrictions and the price was high.

You’d think so. And I would be happy to pay sky high premiums, but I guess they all consider us too much of a risk.

We’ve booked another cruise in October for 19 nights. So I’ll keep looking. But have tried almost everyone I’ve seen advertised on TV or found on Google.

If I do manage to find one that will cover us, I’ll let you know.

We’re heading to the Adriatic, with stops in Venice, Dubrovnik, and Corfu amongst others. It’ll be fun!

Hi, we done a cruise last April and got insurance from Avanti who were very good . The premium was high but I taken unwell and had to make a claim of £2450 and they paid out within the week of receiving all my paperwork . So may be worth your while contacting them .

Just spoke to Avanti. Unfortunately because of my wife's illness, they can't cover us, and I'm not sure anyone will.

I am having Spiro tests next week and have booked our holiday for late September, hope if I get a diagnosis it won't cause a problem with insurance.
