Help with going on holiday?
Hi victoriablue
My husband has COPD I understand how difficult it is to go on holiday. I have been in touch with our local hospice and they gave the name of a hotel in Bournemouth which only takes people with 'serious' illnesses.
I do not know where you live but this hotel will help if you are on oxygen. They will certainly not be 'bothered' by your cough.
Hope this helps. Jean
Have you been taught any physio techniques for getting the gunk from your lungs? You could get the Flutter on prescription from your GP. I have bronchiectasis and therefore have a chesty productive cough constantly, and have to clear out my lungs with physio. Please don't allow this to stop you going on holiday - you can do your physio in the privacy of your bedroom.
Hope things work out for you.

Dorset Social Services had a huge list of respite holidays worth asking them to send you the info x
hi and welcome, other members on hear could advice u ,u will learn loads of them as I have done, can I ask how bad is ur copd take care
Thank you for all the reply's nice to know I am not on my own. Lost my hubby 12 months ago and things have seemed worse since then. I have really bad nights and mornings takes me about an hour to be able to move and do much but not on oxygen at the moment. If the Mucodyne works I will try go away for a few days. Thank you all .
