So sorry to hear this, have someone go with you to the tribunal and make sure that you go, you are not doing anything wrong.

Hi

Remake your appointment . Providing you claim is successful .DLA will continue after you reach 65 .

I was 64 and my claim continues indefinite without any transfer top PIP

Hi,

I had a tribunal about 5 1/2 years ago now & was nervous beforehand. However, like Stitch, I found that I need not have been so worried.

There was a doctor, a carer and a DWP lawyer there. The doctor was fantastic and asked questions which were easy to answer and showed she knew what to ask. The carer asked about a 'typical' bad day and how I coped.

I had a friend with me who was able to tell them how I was from another person's view.

All in all, it was very friendly indeed. Just remeber to tell them what you find difficult, not just how you 'cope' with things.

The worst bit was having to wait outside while they decided my fate. It took them all of 5 minutes. I got DLA.

Please don't let nerves get the better of you!

Best wishes

Paul

Dept works pensions nearly always. Refuse application in. The first instance I have won 3 appeal tribunals now and had the parents backdated. Unlike criminal and civil court a if you loose. There's no costs involved i but best advice. Is get your local welfare rights on board

Try and make a new appointment and as someone else said get someone you trust to go a long with you. Hope it all works out. It's hard enough being ill with out the added stress.

You may not get the chance non attendance usually results in judgment in absence the tribunal is an independent body they are not on the dept of works and pensions side or yours don't fear them and get welfare rights to attend in support of your claim

Point one the date of your original application remains it didn't matter your age now it will be back dated please please contact your local welfare rights officer at council. . I have attended. 2 tribunals and have won them both keep at it never give in

remember they all wear pyjamas or nighties or nothing in bed .. imagining people interviewing me in pjs has helped me in the past to see them as like me. PREPARE and have all documents. Make straightforward statements about what you can't do, and don't exaggerate what you can do. Best if you can have someone there with you to support you. Expect to win...it will change your body language and this is your right to have this benefit. Look at people as you speak and as they speak ... shows your honest and respect too. They will know you are nervous .... anyone would be. some diaphragm breathing is a help to calm you and rescue remedy always takes the worst of anxiety away from me. best of luck. x

Oh dear I to have been to a tribunal I took someone with me when I got to the court I was called in to the court room where there was a Doctor { not sure what he was a DR in } and a judge every time I went to answer a question to the DR the judge told me to shut up, the person who came with me was also told to shut up and in reality this is how Atos conduct there business

in reply toonamission

bsds,

Mamie I am wishing you every success for tomorrow. I have not attended a tribunal myself but if its any consolation I hear through other sources that its over and done in 5 mins, and that it mostly always goes in favour of the claimant not atos. I believe atos have lost credibility concerning the way they conduct things.

Be strong and brave and tell it like it is.

Have a couple of hot toddies tonight and hit the sack early.

Will be thinking of you, let us know how you get on.

Good luck and best wishes BC
