michelle you sound better than you did, good for you, kids do adjust and yer son as shown how proud he is of his mummy, and he will make you proud of him, together you will get through this period, let him help you when you need it,that way he will understand about the illness better, and make a point of saying to him.have you any homework I can help you with, that way yer helping each other, your minds distracted and so is his, it keeps the normality flowing, all the best on the transplant love, ive got everything crossed for you im not religious but ile say a prayer for both of you,let members no how it goes, night night to both of you, love twice xxx

michelle keep that thought, you will be fine, dont give up on this, work with your son and together you will get there, hes a bit scared but you are as well I think, talk to each other, about anything an nothing but keep the flow going between the two of you, soon has he comes in from school say hiya hows it been and smile, then start having a conversation on his day,but keep smiling an give him cuddles ,hes still a little man but hes growing up and you both will get through this period ,an you both will be stronger for it, love twice xxx

That's great news michelle. Children are very resilient. Everyone likes to feel helpful and involved, even children. No one likes to feel shut out. You are obviously handling the situation very well. Make plently cuddles time and try to keep life as normal as possible. All the best. Keep us updated xx

Newcastle is the best in country for transplant ...my son was there when first born with heart problems and the care was second to none. So you will be in the best place . Children live in the moment so that is good actually we adults could do with doing the same!! Keep the positive attitude you have and think how your life will be when youve had your transplant . You are a very strong woman will be thinking of you and your family with love Judith xxxx

Michelle, this is a tough time, waiting for your transplant. but the waiting is tougher than the actual operation. You're very brave. Keep it up for your kids and yourself. You will all be proud of yourselves when you are through with this. Best wishes, Mic.

My elderly mom has also been put on oxygen as she has severe heart failure and COPD. I hope you and your children are coping. Must of been daunting for them at first seeing you on oxygen, but sounds like they've got used to it now. I hope you get the transplant soon, then you can start living life to the full with your children. Can you tell me what you use on your lips if they're dry and chapped? The oxygen providers told my mom she can't use Vaseline, or anything with liquid paraffin in it and her lips are so sore and chapped.
