I can understand you feeling depressed, kimmy. I suffer from bronchiectasis and have had many, many infections over the last few years. Sadly I have been caught whilst I have been away. Awful, finding a doctor when i was ill. Fingers and toes crossed, I haven't had any for 2 months. I had a heavy course of antibs which seemed to slow things up. However, dont lose heart. Have you any other lung condition which needs investigating. Have a word with the BLF nurse, click on red balloon, top right hand corner.
Hello
Thanks for your reply, yes I have respiratory nurses that come to the house. Things aren't helped by the fact we've just discovered the stop cock has been leaking, the water has gone under the old flooring and pushed up the new so there's damp. Assessor not coming until Thursday.
Kim
It sounds as if you aren't on your own, Kimmy, but that doesn't lessen water out of place, as I have known to my cost, but then we have to think about the folk that have been flooded out of their homes.
Oh kimmy that is depressing. We had a similar leaking problem a few years ago which really didn't help my husbands chest. Try to stay positive and let's hope you quickly recover. Are you back on antibiotics? Look after yourself and give yourself time to recover. Thinking about you sending lots of love TAD x x ps maybe try some manuka honey?
Thanks Tad
I think I'm going to try the honey I take cider vinegar which is vile. Yes im taking my AB's and steroids. What's annoying me is waiting so long for the assessor, I found out about the leak Monday and got straight onto them, had to wait 4 days for a plumber.
I'm trying to stay positive but it is hard. Xxx
Hi
I've also had rough time just lately with infections after infections and now have another problem on top of it all - diabetes- but more importantly/embarrassing severe diarrhoea due to loads of antibiotics plus the diabetes medication-you cant win!! Then the dreaded ESA forms drops through letter box. Lets rub salt into the room-Sorry rant over. Just wish things were different ;-(

Kimmy, I feel sorry that you are having such an awful time. It does not matter that other people may be worse off than you. You are entitled to feel anxious/angry/sad. You would feel like that if it was all happening to someone else. It is our turn to try and support you and care about your situation. I do hope you will start feeling better soon and your dampness will be sorted. Due to 2 floods in the bathroom last year, I ended up with a huge hole in the kitchen ceiling which I managed to get fixed 2 days before Christmas. The fixing was not a great job and it cost loads but the dust and damp was not great for my health. I ended up being taken to A n E on Boxing Day. Good luck. Alison
Oh Kimmy, what a rough time you are having, then the damp problem to top it all of,life just isn't very fair at times!
I can understand your frustration at having to wait for that blooming assessor, they never seem to be in a hurry do they?
Anyway, you just take care of yourself, pneumonia is horrible,& seems to take a long time to get over completly, these darn infections seem to still pop up,from time to time,
Hugs,Wendells xxx
The assessor is taking his time yes and the plumber just put some duck tape round the stop cock, I was at work so I shall be telling the assessor I'm not happy. Lol
Sorry things are tough for you just now Kimmy. In times of chest infection I've also felt really depressed, understandably, as it impacts on daily life and prevents you from doing things. It's just a theory but as well as this reaction to ill-health I suspect the infection on it's own might just cause some kind of chemical inbalance that brings about an extra dollop of depression?? Iv'e felt horribly depressed during chest infections but don't know if anyone else has a similar experience or whether it's just me?
Do hope that things will ease for you soon, and also that wretched leak gets sorted. Regards ~ Lovelight xx
I think you could be right I wouldn't be surprised. And I'm sure I talk myself into things I convince myself I've got an infection when sometimes it's just the pleuritic pain.
