Another infection!: Started the abs and... - Lung Conditions C...
Another infection!
Sorry to hear you have another infection starting Lyn, and its weird how its always at the weekend or over a holiday period. Hope you feel better soon and the antibiotics and steroids kick in soon.
Take care,
hugs from Huggs xxx
Thanks Huggs, luckily for me ( but not for hubby!) it is the weekend so at least he can do all the dog walks. And he is a wiz at ready meals haha xx
Yes it always happens at weekends take it easy and plenty of rest and hope everything turns out fine take care
hi lyn if your getting lots infections your maybe needing long term ab. I spent 8 months constantly getting infections, and was on ab and steroids every other week. I started long term ab in april and haven't had infection since. so keeping my fingers crossed get through winter without one lol.
tam
Thanks Tam, got to have another spirometry test done as my doctor says that he is concerned that I am having too many infections. Only problem is that their spirometry machine has broken. Hopefully it will soon be sorted. Fingers crossed for you for a winter without infections xx
Sorry to here you have an infection. I always get one at weekend when I am meant to be going to our caravan
Sorry you are feeling unwell Lyn. Enjoy the rest, hope the abs and steroids soon kick in. Love Margaret x
Thanks. Will try and enjoy the rest. think it's been a month since the last infection! Xx
Hope you feel better soon Lyn.
Always does seem to be the weekend doesn't it! Hope you get these infections sorted and you feel better soon.
Thank you. It's a real nuisance as missing out on seeing family but will catchup with them xx
I'm in the same boat Lyn -due spirometry last Monday, couldn't have it because getting over "nasty cold" which developed into chest infection; back to Doc on Thursday, abs and he re-instated Atrovent on the computer, which automatically bars you if you don't get it every month or so. My meds are down to 2 puffs of Atrovent before bed; there are 200 puffs in the inhaler so 1 lasts me 3 months. No, no, no - (says young doc) doesn't work like that, well it works for me and I'm the patient. Thankfully saw senior partner who said "lot of it about" and just wrote the damn scrip. No prednisolone though. I live alone but have my dog to care for, my wonderful son who walks her daily is at Music Festival (Watchet I think) and my very caring friend drops in daily though off to France on Tuesday so very pushed for time. Last night scarey, gasping sob but managed a few hours sleep & PF has crawled up to 250 this a.m. I will avoid bed tonight and just nod off in chair I think. At least this time I recognised it before the Bank Holiday, you're quite right that's almost always when it strikes - sods law! Hope everyone has the best possible Bank Holiday - the weather has cheered up slightly.
Weather wentt downhill fast Lyn, managed a shower and saw to my girl - downed a chicken sarnie then took to my bed still in bashtowel & gown and I dropped off reading my kindle for 2 blissful hours - felt so much better for it. Friend phoned and woke me just in time for abs. Hope you are feeling a bit improved, it's a beast of a condition but rest certainly helps. Get well soon!
Your two hour sleep must have done you the world of good. This condition is certainly a beast. If only I could get a nights sleep. Did ask my doctor if I could have some sleeping pills but he said no way with my breathing. Oh well I tried! Take care xx
Lyn do you sleep on your side? Left or right side?
Left side. Cannot stay on my right side for moe than two minutes due to bad shoulder. Had a shoulder op seven years ago but still have problems with it. Xx
Lyn I was getting lung infections after lung infections. Was on antibiotics Nebuliser Spiriva everything. this was for about a year. I had a chat with a Respiratory Physio and she said. I wasn't sufficiently clearing my lungs and airways of mucus. Started drinking a lot more water got a bubble pep and I have never looked back. Have not had a lung infection for 12 months.
Had to look up to see what bubble pep was. Will try it plus I do drink as much water as possible. I can feel the mucus but am unable to clear it. The doctor suggested inhaling steam. I will let you know how I get on with the bubble pep. Thanks for telling me about it xx
