Hi there can anyone help. I take prednisolone red steroid tablets and when ever I come off them my face breaks out with little yellow head spots and boils. Does anyone else suffer with this? What is the best treatment to use on my face?
Kind regards

I have been on Seretide for 3 years and have been having awful problems with various health issues fir the past year. Anxiety, upset stomach, muscle cramps, loss of weight after going round in circles all this time it has been found the steroid in Seretide has been the problem. It has raised my cortisol levels to a very high rate. Have been off the inhaler fir three weeks today and apart from nausea, headaches, extreme tiredness, ringing in ears I have a prickly rash of small pimples that burst around my nose and mouth. I think it is due to steroid withdrawal and helps to make life pretty miserable at the moment.
No I haven't used anything. Doctors seem happy to offer steroid creams and considering the problems I have been having with Seretide I would rather suffer and hope it will eventually disappear once the steroid withdrawal is over. It has faded quite a lot over the last couple of days
Hello Joseph260268,,,, what happens to your face could be a side effect of stopping the prednisolone,,,,,the leaflet should have given the warnings about this,,,in the side effects part,,,,try a site called MediGuard,,,input your medications and it gives you interactions,,,and warnings of bad interactions,,,,,,I discovered that removing a steroid very quickly, causes the body to "panic" as the the removal of the drug makes it want it and so the body 'goes into shock at the removal of this strong drug',,,,good luck with this very upsetting problem,,,ttfn from Karen.
I don't get acne but large dry patches of flaky skin and white lumps due to the amount of steroids in inhalers and the bad boy predlisilone. I have always had a small amount of eczema and have for a number of years used Liz Earle skin products and for me they seem to work. Although her skin cleansing product is not advertised to help acne a good friend also uses the same cleanser and she does suffer from acne outbreaks. Most of the products are scent free or more on the herby side and she does some products for men. She does trial sizes as well, so you don't need to by large sizes if you want to have a go.
