Apixaban

my chemist sent my scrip this week . got it wrong so has to be corrected but i also got a box of clippings of apixaban tablets . 56 in all and it was all the extras snipped from other peoples scrips mainly 4s but even one single one. all carefully counted out !

I put them in blocks of 7 to give each weeks supply and label each .

one block of 7 for night and one for morning.. So sat down with sellotape and my efforts with sellotape eventually gave me the final blocks of 7 Mon to Sun.

I do sometimes forget to take them in the morning so set this routine.

why dont the makers pack them in strips of 7 for the week. many tablets like this are prescibed by the week .

I agree with you. I have to cut up a couple of my meds so that I remember to take.

Hi I buy a pill dispenser to do my husbands medication.i have 2 and do 28 days at a time so morning and evening in 2 separate ones.it takes me about 30 min each 4 four weeks.so all I have to do is take out morning dose for him from one and evening dose from the other each day is named.i do this as he has 16 tablets a day including apixaban twice daily.so very simple to give him and I can check or double check as I go along.also if we manage a few days away simple to just pack the tablets in amounts needed.lightweight plastic small sliding container.also if I was unwell easy for one of our family to give him his tablets.syeve has heart failure copd and hypoxic brain damage so cannot read or understand about his medication.so each day it just takes a few seconds for his medication.hope you keep well

My pharmacy are doing the same bits of odd tablets here and there all stuffed in the same box because the amounts prescribed are odd

I have a week's pill dispenser. I put all my medication, which is a huge amount, into the daily sections once a week. I then just need to open the correct day and all my meds are ready and waiting!

It sounds like your pharmacy was being thrifty- at your expense.
