Hi Kujude
Again I can't answer your question, best to ring the help line, I'm sure someone there will be able to help you.
Take care

I have never had long term steroids, but can sympathise with the aching joints, it is really not nice. I have rheumatoid arthritis and at times it is completely consuming. Hope the helpline can give you some answers 03000 030 555 - I would mention it to your doctor too.

This could just be coincidence, also perhaps whilst you were on the steroids you may not have been very active and things got a little out of use!
I feel this is best to talk specifics with the helpline.
Enjoy your day
Hi Kujude,
A few years ago I was on a high dose of steroids (40mg) although I was nothing like as bad as I am now, thinking back it might have been a preventative thing which incidentally didn't work, anyway during this time I had severe pain in my ankles and knees one night so badly I couldn't get out of bed. When I told my doctor he said it was most likely the sarcoidosis causing the pain but once my dose was reduced the pain subsided.
Hope this helps

High level steroids will mask any joint pain as they are all over anti-inflammatories, not just lung specific. So if you suffered any inflammation related joint pains before then that is what they will be. I am weaning myself from 35mg (9 months) and am now on 15mg so am expecting a few aches and pains from my Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Like the others have said high dose steroids can mask join and muscle pain also steroids can as a side effect cause weak muscles best get checked out by the dr. How quickly did you come off the steroids if it was too quickly it could be a steroid withdrawal you have. Hope it get sorted for you fast.
hi I am the new guy here, steroids have ruined my life, I was on them for 5 years, although they did help me breathe a lot better, I have went from 12 stone 4 lbs, to 19-5lbs, I have had 2 heart attacks, I am a diabetic, brittle bones, all thanks to 8 steroids a day. but that's whats happened to me, maybe different for you guys, have a great day.....Davey.
