I'm sitting here, at 45 minutes past midnight, in Cornwall, with my third glass of Cava.
My husband is in Surrey, my son is with his partner, Laura, in Norfolk and both my cats (McDuff and Sparky) are out over the road in the farm (probably being horrible to some poor rodent).
I really do feel that I am 'Billy no mates'. I am not sleepy and the thought of being awake for the rest of the night is awful.

Nice to see you Stitch - I used to find the all day sessions completely exhausting. Clearing up your things and getting home. Wondering if you can cut to half day? There is no enjoyment when you are exhausted, for me, I didn't work so well.
Pepsy - you are never alone on this site but I take your point that your loved ones are all away. Things at night seem worse.
It is 8am - I really hope you got to sleep in the end. Have heart, you are in my favourite place, Cornwall. Great for painters and artists. love annie80x
I spelt pepsi wrong. I have been out this am and visited Boots. For anyone who is interested -- I bought Bach flower essences for a natural night's sleep AND Bach rescue remedy daytime plus Rescue pastilles all for calming.
It was a deal - the pastilles came free. I might out a separate blog about these remedies but it could come under advertising. The first two items were in drop format.
Hello everyone from me too. I was one of those tucked up I'm afraid. I hope you feel in better spirits today Pepsi.
Nice to see you Stitch, I've missed seeing you on here. Annie has a good point (morning Annie), maybe half days would be better.
We have the allotment today (lads to plant now) and then I have a million little jobs as we go away a week today, then our garage is being converted as soon as we are back. I don't know if I'm coming r going with it all, especially as I 3 days work to fit into the mix.
Hope you slept OK in the end Pepsy, the Cava would help. I had a good nights sleep but my husband was by my side and my youngest daughter and partner are down for a long weekend so just the opposite to you. We were up at 6am making a cottage pie for tonight. Just having a rest whilst the potatoes cook.
You are having a laugh!!! Cooking at 6am in the morning!!!
Cottage pie is one of my favourites. I had a look to see if I have the necessary to make cottage pie. I have everything I need apart from potatoes for the mash. I have only new potatoes.
I hope you have a lovely time today - enjoy your supper.
No headache this morning - I don't remember the last time I had enough to drink to give me a hangover.
Have a lovely day. I hope the sun is shining wherever you are (It's a bit 'iffy' here in Cornwall).
Lots of hugs

I sympathise with you. I have spent many a lonely night not being able to sleep, even when people have been asleep in the house. You feel totally alone, as if you are the only one on the earth who is awake. Its not nice. You're not alone. We understand, and as you can see from the answers theres always someone awake. This site is so good. Keep smiling.(if thats possible).
I'm usually a 'smiley' person Sheepdog. It's just now and again that I feel down.
Today started off well, in that my husband rang to see if I was OK and then a few minutes ago my brother, Iain, rang for a chat. Good things.

Sorry pepsi I have been awake every night this week except last night, first good sleep Iv'e had for ages. How are you this morning ? When is hubby due home ? Try mixing the cava with some mango juice, it's lovely. How is the weather in Cornwall to-day we were promised sun but at the moment it's pouring down, just as well as I forgot to water the hanging baskets last evening usually the old fella's job but he popped out for a drink with the guys now he will never know he! he!. Keep your pecker up keep logging on to us nutheads here we will do our best to cheer you up.xxx
It was raining this morning but it has cleared up a bit - I think the sun may come through.
I'm fine this morning - thinking about doing some housework (just 'thinking' at this stage).
Peter is due back on Tuesday afternoon - seems like quite a bit away. Some friends are coming over on Monday for a bit of a gossip so that is something lovely to look forward to.
Everyone who has messaged me on this site have cheered me up - don't really know what I did before finding you all.
I looked at your profile (is profile the correct word) and see that you are in the Midlands. My true love, Peter, hails from Birmingham (Aston). We have been in Cornwall since the 60s.
Thank you for thinking about me. You're a star.
Love and hugs
