Started this inhaler on Friday after being moved from clenil as it wasn't controlling my asthma. On 1 puff morning and 1 puff evening MART regime and 6 puffs if need be during the day. My breathing and cough seems to have improved but I am getting some side effects, extreme fatigue, headaches, muscle aches slight cough after taking it (it's a dry powder one) just feel weak and completely not myself. Anyone else suffered this on fostair?

Fostair 100/6 nexthaler
I had all of the above side effects from Fostair 100/6 but I am so sensitive to steroids. Other people I know have been very well controlled on it. I suffered extreme muscle cramps and strong palpitations too. I was stepped up to Fostair from Budesonide (after weeks of uncontrolled asthma breathlessness following Covid infection). After two weeks on Fostair, the breathlessness improved, but my body couldn't tolerate the combined inhaler so I was reverted back to Budesonide. I'm afraid it's a case of discussing this with your asthma nurse. My side effects were so intense on Fostair but my body hasn't tolerated asthma medications very well since asthma was formally diagnosed two years ago at the age of 63!Good luck.
I was the same, didn't feel right, exactly as you described. After speaking to my asthma nurse I went back on my original beclometasone inhaler. I thought it was strange as my son is fine with it. Over time I have heard people not happy taking it.
I see you've gone however I'll just add that there are a lot more patients finding that Fostair MART suits them very well rather than the few who cannot use it........... it takes about 3 weeks for most new inhalers to take proper effect
I was changed from Symbicort which I'd been taking for 15 years to Fostairnext - why I don't know,All of the above symptoms plus coughing as soon as the inhaled Fostair hit my throat, I decided enough was enough and saw my GP yesterday , I'm happily back on the Symbicort and feel better already.
It was my previous surgery who changed my inhaler and my new GP practice have been brilliant and where happy to change me back .
I have been on Foster MDI as MART for weeks, it was not bad but it didn’t control my asthma, sometimes even worsen my breathing, i noticed that i hade the same issue before with Trimbow (was worse) and Salbutamol but never with Spiriva (powder). Last week i called my GP and asked him to give me one pack of Foster nexthaler to try it out mybe i am allergic to propellant, i am using it now for three days and my Ashtma has never been better!!! I am shocked, no extra puff! I can’t fully judge right now but i am hoping for the best. Sorry for the long answer but what i want to say is people are different, try the Foster MDI, it may work for you. Fosternexthaler contain Lactose, some people can’t tolerate it.
