Starting Fostair 100/6

Hi. I’ve had asthma since I was about 4. I’m now 33. In the last few weeks I had a really bad cold which led me to the walk in and was put on steroids for the week. I was taking ventolin and clenil modulite. I’ve now been put on fostair 100/6 2 puffs morning and night to try and help me and try and stop this cough I can’t get rid of!

Has anyone else recently started this and found a huge difference? I’m really hoping this inhaler will work!

Hi. My first post, so hello everyone 👋 😊. I have recently (January) been diagnosed with adult onset asthma and moderate COPD. I had a lousy cough that went on for a couple of months following a virus ( the reason I went to the doctors). I was given fostair same as you. The fostair 100/ 6 × 2 puffs in the morning and 2 in the evening stopped the cough dead within a week. I feel better now than I have for ages... I hope you get the same results 😊

Thanks hun. That’s encouraging. I took the two puffs this evening. My throat felt pretty sore after. Still coughing so hoping that’ll stop soon. Xx

I was discharged from hospital yesterday for the same thing. They said I had contacted a virus. I couldnt stop coughing. 24/7. I am now on Fostair, steroids and ventalin. Its too soon to say if its working but I feel lots better. I hope it works for both of us, keep in touch.

All this is new to me. No asthma before and I am 60 years old.

Have you started to feel better yet since starting the fostair? When did you start it?

I’ve started to be really itchy everywhere. My face feels like it’s burning up. My arms are really itchy. I’m going to have to stop it until I can speak to the docs on Tuesday. I dunno if it’s an allergic reaction.

That sounds terrible, so sorry you are going though all this. A long time to go without anything though. You may have to do 111. Keep safe, if in doubt phone them.

I had a bad allergic reaction to the Fostair. Ended up ringing 999 at 4am last night it was that bad. So that inhaler is in the bin! Back to my old faithfuls and hope that they work again soon 😊

Thank you never been so scared 😟

Yes I've recently started Fostair, it took several weeks to take effect but seems to be working well now.

Did anyone get quite bad leg cramps? Whilst using Fostair?

Terrible muscle cramps and spasms. The Forstair worked well but I had to stop taking it.

Hi I caught a really bad flu virus just after Xmas 2018 then about 2 months after getting rid of it caught the cold which then brought on a real barky cough. Docs told me it was just a virus and would clear. So I went 2 months with it but I moved GPS in that time and my new doc put me on fostair which didn't work straight away but now I have been on it for a year my cough is well controlled but sometimes lurks if im a bit sniffly. My new doc did also tell me the barky cough could be acid reflux related aswell. So if fostair dosent keep working maybe investigate the acid reflux thing. Sorry for such a long reply but I love to talk lol.

I suffer from heartburn a lot. It’s been worse since I’ve used those steroids. Still having problems and I stopped them yesterday. I suffered terribly from acid reflux when pregnant and was put on ranitidine which really helped but didn’t have a cough with it.
