I want to ask the asthma specialist at my next review if I can reduce my fostair to once a day? Anybody on this low dose? As mine is seasonal in winter I want to stop in Spring. I am a bit hesitant due to pandemic but will discuss with him whenever I get appt. Concerned if long term side effects. Thanks
Anybody taking fostair nexthaler 100/... - Asthma Community ...
Anybody taking fostair nexthaler 100/6 once a day?
I think it's supposed to be taken twice a day because it lasts 12 hours.
But if you have not been symptomatic for 3 months (and not needing blue inhaler more than twice a week) then they might consider a step down to a steroid only inhaler (ie without the long-acting bronchodilator bit). But control should be achieved consistently before a doctor or nurse decides this.
Only on fostair nexthaler 100/6. Ventolin prescription has been discontinued. Previously was on becotide and ventolin. I do not like the idea of taking a combi as used ventolin occasionally before. Will need to discuss.
The idea, which you probably know, is that with a combi you don't need the reliever because there's a long-acting one already in it. Obviously that's the ideal and some people still do.
But definitely worth a discussion - if the doctor thinks steroid only is workable for you then great. Although just not wanting to have to take something probably isn't a viable argument so maybe don't give that as your reason!
yes I got prescribed it a MONTH AGO and I am OK on it but I think I mAY NOT NEED 2PUFFS 2XDAILY SO I AM GOINGV TO PUFF ONCE IN THE MORNING AND ONCE AT NIGHT IT IS HOPELESS TRING TO GET TO SPEAK TO ANYONE SO I AM TAKING MATTERS IN MY OWN HANDS I STILL DONT THINK I AM ASTHMATIC APART FROM ONE TIME WHEN I WAS BREATHLESS I NEVER USE THE BLUE INHALER EITHER
