I have been on Symbicort 400/12 taking 2 puffs twice daily for 4 years and wondered if I should be issued with a steroid card. Thank you. šŸ™‚

I have also been on it for about 4 years and don't have one. Dr said I didn't need one.

I have one for my Relvar 184/22. Pharmacist told me I needed one for it, GP hadn't mentioned it.

My GP hasnā€™t mentioned it either but I was put on during a telephone conversation with the hospital consultant. Iā€™ll ask the pharmacist.

I use Duoresp Spiromax 320/9 inhaler and was issued with a steroid emergency card about 15 months ago by my medical practice. It says that " this patient is physically dependent on daily steroids therapy as a critical medicine. It must be never be omitted or discontinued ..."There was research published around a couple of years ago which showed that inhaled steroids can lead to adrenal insufficiency, according to the letter to me which accompanied the card.

Thank you Thomas thatā€™s what I read. So as Iā€™ve been on it 4 years now I think itā€™s useful just in the event something happens.

Iā€™ve copied the response from Thomas 45 which is what I have just seen on the web.

My asthma nurse told me, I needed to carry a steroid card where you take over 1000 per day (sounds like you're onn1600 per day) and was told I had to carry for 2 years after stopping the high does. I was on 1200 at the time so she wrote it out in my annual review although they change all my meds a few months later.
