I’ve been on Fostair 200/6 for a couple of years along with Salmol and Spiriva Respimat, Montelukast and Fexofenadine. My asthma became uncontrollable and it turned out that I was allergic to my BP medication Ramipril after not being on it for a few day the constant cough that I had stopped completely. However this coughing has caused a hiatus hernia.
My GP has changed my Fostair to Luforbec and I’ve only been taking it for a week and my cough is back worse than ever I can’t stop coughing and my chest is tight.
Has anyone else found that its not working for them?

Hi Butterfly. Some people don’t notice much of a change when they are changed to Luforbec, but may do. (Looks like you may be one of the latter)
There are related posts on the right of your screen and if you put Luforbec in the search box others will come up.
I was changed but my peak flows started to take a downward slide so I insisted I was changed back - politely of course.
My advice would be to contact your GP and make them aware of your problems, tell them you know they are supposed to be the same, but that somehow it doesn’t seem to agree with you and, if at all possible could you change back. If they say no, throw the ball back in their court and ask what are you supposed to do?
Apparently the medication content is the same but the other fillers are not. If you do a search on Luforbec you'll hopefully come up with the one with a link explaining all.You must go back to the gp. I think I may commit murder if my Fostair was changed at this time of year when my asthma is at it's worst 🙃
I had the same problem with Luforbec, caused bronchospasm. Changed back to Fostair and fine now. The propellant in Luforbec is not the same as Fostair or Ventolin. Get to your GP and get changed back to Fostair.
Yep happened to me too and they changed me back to fostair after a chat with my asthma clinic. It was like breathing in an irritant. If you are searching for other posts watch out for random spelling of luforbec. lufobec luferbec etc. Thats's why I couldn't find many other posts
Sorry to hear that you are struggling with your new medication, it's important to let your GP or nurse know of any changes to your condition especially since you mention your cough has started again and your chest is tight. Please call 999 in an emergency.
If you are based in the UK, you can call us on the Helpline (0300 222 5800, 9.15am-5pm, Mon-Fri) for advice on your medication and management of your asthma and we will be happy to help you.
I agree with everyone that you need to ask to go back on Fostair. Re the BP meds, my consultant explained that Ramipril is an ACE Inhibitor and this group of meds can cause an asthma cough. He recommended Losartan Potassium as a safe alternative. It works differently and hasn't caused any side effects for me.
Hi Butterfly get back on fostair ...they tried to put me on it to make climate cleaner it doesnt work...same as salomol compaired to ventolin no contest demand fostair and ventolin....theyre trying to save money at your expense
I spoke with a GP today and there was no problem with me going back on to Fostair. I think its the propellant gas in the Luforbec that doesn’t suit me. I’m so glad that I didn’t have to fight to be put back on to Fostair as with some changes that are happening with medication you can struggle to get back on what suit you.
I had more trouble with the receptionist telling me it was exactly the same medication when I told her I thought it was the propellant she didnt have a clue what I was talking about so I explained to her what it did. So hopefully she’ll have learnt something today and will be able to help others with the same problem.
