Taking so many drugs ...

Hi all - I posted on here recently as I had an asthma flare up whilst in India. Well, couldn't make it home without seeing a doctor πŸ˜• He said it was pollution induced and gave me a short course of methylprednisolone, omeprazole, anti histamines, cough medicine and antibiotics!!! He also said he couldn't hear anything on my chest as in an infection. So, I'm home now, and appear to have picked up a cough and cold and I feel terrible. I rang my own gp who said take the steroids for another 3 days but not the antibiotics. The steroids are giving me awful heartburn and my cough is non productive. Any ideas if how to get rid of it all please?

You must be feeling awful. Not really got much advice other than keep on with the omeprazole while you are on the steroids. I always take lansoprazole (also a PPE) when I'm on a course of steroids. They help with the heartburn. Also are you taking them with or after food? I take mine literally with my morning porridge, on the spoon, half way through the bowl! No advice re the rest other than sending my best wishes.

Cheers Misscrisps - so sick of feeling below par. I think my rookie mistake was not taking them religiously with food and I had a mince pie when I know pastry is a trigger. I've only got a day to go so I'll be careful. Thanks for replying 😊

Thanks Patk1 - I have done a Covid test and it was negative but I'm thinking that it may be as I do appear to have all the symptoms! Got a better night's sleep last night. Took some antihistamine which knocked me out! I'll have a look at the controlled breathing - that sounds good. Cheers 😊

Guys gastric consultant told me that omeprazole should always be taken 20 minutes before eating to be most effective.
