Diagnosed with late onset asthma recently. Prescribed Fostair 200/6 but suffered terrible cramps., especially at night and when exercising. I know this is associated with potassium levels and therefore increased intake of potassium high fruit and veg, but didn’t help.
Consultant prescribed Montekulast and reduce Fostair to 1 puff twice a day. Big improvement in the cramps but deterioration with the breathlessness and felt incredibly tired.
Consultant changing inhaler to Trelegy Ellipta. Does anyone use this?
Thank you

Good morning pussycatwillow. Yes I was put onto Trelegy 92/55/22 Just over a year ago now and no real problems. Just use it 1st thing every morning and the last time I seen my Respiratory nurse my lung function had improved slightly which is good news. Only problem recently is trying to clear my throat. It's as though I can never clear the phlegm. So on tablets to help. I was put on the Trelegy because they found signs of Asthma in my blood test. Hope you do well on this medication and have a good day. Brian
Good morning Bingo88I can also sympathise with you regarding clearing your throat...I am forever doing this ...it is so embarrassing...I must sound a 100 over the phone! All my friends say my voice sounds so week.
Hi pussycatwillow...I have used Trelegy Ellipta in the past but unfortunately it wasn't strong enough for my type of asthma. I have been on numerous inhalers over the years and seem to have now settled on Relvar Ellipta.
I really can sympathise with you regarding muscle cramps. One of my many inhalers caused it (sorry I can't remember which one!) but the cramping was unbearable during the day & night. It reduced me to tears. So good luck with your new inhaler...keep persevering!
By the way...I have also discovered that white wine causes cramps too. 😫
