Hi, I am a newly diagnosed asthma patient, using a dry powder inhaler for the first in my life aged 76. I am experiencing a very runny nose & sinusitis. My question is will these symptoms subside over time - only been using Relvar Ellipta for 25 days. I am rinsing my mouth immediately after inhaling. Advice would be most appreciated.

Advice on Relvar Ellipta 92/22
I'm on Relvar as well, and I have to blow my nose multiple times a day, but that started before I started using any inhaler, so I think it's just another 'joy' of asthma - especially as I find I don't need to do it as much when I'm on holiday somewhere which doesn't have as many triggers as my home area does!
Thank you for your reply. My runny nose, itching & sneezing only started at approximately the 20th day of using my first ever inhaler - I did read it is one of the adverse reactions of Relvar & am hoping it will go away & not be a permanent symptom. I have never had any allergies or hay fever etc, my asthma has just been diagnosed after a viral cough. I am going to ring the respiratory nurses tomorrow to ask if there is anything I can safely take to elevate it, just using a saline nasal spay at the moment.
I have been on relvar 184 for about 6 years ( could be longer)I have not had any issues except episodes of thrush.
It could just be another side affect of your asthma. Maybe have a chat with your respiratory nurse or GP. Hopefully things will be resolved soon.
My follow up appointment with the asthma clinic was supposed to be today, I had lots of questions but it was cancelled, rescheduled for 3 weeks time 😡 I will take your advice & call the respiratory nurses, thank you. I haven’t even finished my first Ellipta inhaler & seem to have quite a few of the adverse reactions.
