I’ve been on Fostair 200/6 for quite a few years, I’ve not experienced it but it is listed as an uncommon side effect. Do you use a spacer with it? Sometimes breathing in too quickly can cause a light head.

Best thing is to contact your GP and/or asthma nurse and discuss with them.

I have been using Fostair for about 3 years now. The strength is 100/6. I was advised to gargle well after the inhalation as it can cause fungus in the throat over a period of time. The symptoms mentioned by you have not been experienced by me, Suggest you see a GP to find out if these are due to another reason.

Do you experience the side effects around the time you take your dose of Fostair or do they happen throughout the day? Definitely discuss with your asthma nurse or doctor as you could consider staggering the doses if that helps any side effects that occur just after you take a double inhalation, but only adjust your prescription on advice from your asthma nurse or doctor. If the palpitations are happening at odd times, see if you can get your potassium levels checked as Fostair can affect levels (see patient leaflet that accompanies the inhaler as it suggests that potassium levels are monitored where necessary). Low potassium can give rise to skipped heart beats or palpitations. A potassium rich diet should address any deficiency unless your doctor thinks supplements are required. NB potassium isn't something to supplement without medical supervision.

I've been using it too for a few years now. I haven't been bothered by heart issues, I stopped ventolin because of that. But I do get what has been diagnosed as an Essential Tremor in my hands. I try and take 1 puff in the morning and 2 at night. Sometimes I add in another puff midday or so.

Hi, I have been on Fostair 2 puffs for about 2 years and recently I seem to be getting a little short of breath and my heart sometimes seems as if is racing. My asthma has been stable for nearly all of the 2 years. I am at the stage of thinking it could be a side effect of the Fostair. It does come up on the side effects and seeping your post I will now discuss with the doctor. Thanks for posting

Hey! I was on Fostair 200/6 for half a year. I deffo had palpatations when I was on it. Not sure about skipping a beat. As others have said, worth chatting to your GP about it, or an asthma nurse at Asthma UK

My heart was skipping a beat on fostair 100's of times a day. The nurse said to carry on using it but I got really worried about it so I asked the Dr if I should stop, he just said YES. I asked the Dr if there was anything else I could use instead he just said NO
