PCR test and pneumonia recovery

Randomly got a PCR test in the mail today, no letter with it. Seems a bit weird, is it legit? I should've gotten a priority PCR test a few months ago as I'm immunocompromised, but I didn't. Is this it?

Also, on average how long does it take for you guys to recover from pneumonia? I had it in both lungs, and I'm still struggling which is weird. I am better than I was but I've been off antibiotics for weeks now! Surely I should've been getting better week on week? Still have sharp pain in my chest as well for some reason??? Seeing my local consultant again soon so hopefully he will figure it out lol.

As an aside, starting Xolair injections at home now! So pleased!

Hope you're all well!!

Hi I received a priority PCR test in the post in December and I was also very confused why I had received one. GP surgery had no idea so I phoned asthma UK who were very helpful. They asked if it had green strip at the top. Mine did .she explained that it is for people with certain medical conditions who if they get covid can access antiviral treatments ASAP.. hope this helps

I got one too, as well as the email. My GP said that it's because I've about had 5 weeks of steroid tablets.

I had one too and no letter came with it. I did work out why and used mine when I got covid two weeks ago. Don't be surprise if you get another one. They will replace it just in case you need it again.

I got one back in December. Just means that you have been flagged somewhere along the line that you’re more vulnerable for covid and this is the priority pcr test for it
