I just prescribe a Spiriva inhaler as a add on to my Fostair for perpetual asthma. How long did it take for you to notice the preventative effects? My doctor said it should be a few days, but a quick google search said 4-8 weeks. Just trying to get a sense of what to expect, and when to let him know if its not working.
Thank you!

Several weeks is much more likely than a few days for it to become fully effective, although it should begin to help and help more as it builds up. Hopefully it won't be too long before you begin to notice an improvement.
I found a positive difference from the start and this continued for about 4 months. After that things went downhill and because of side effects I had to come off Spiriva. We're all different though and a review after 8 to 10 weeks with your doctor to discuss how you're getting on should happen. There are other LAMA inhalers so if Spiriva doesn't suit you, be assured that there are other options available.
NB keep a check on your blood pressure as Spiriva can affect this over time.
It took several weeks to start to really help with my breathing and I continued to improve over the next few months. I nearly stopped it after the first week as it did not appear to be working but was told it could take up to eight weeks to work fully.
Hi, was quite quick with me I remember.. maybe a week and the results were amazing. I was on two puffs a day but when I’m good I take it down to just one puff.. it really opens up my lungs. I hope you feel the difference also soon.
