How long for montelukast to kick in?

Would like to hear about people’s experience with montelukast, been given this because by chest has been feeling tight for a few weeks, with dry mouth, throat. Been 5 days at the moment and still a bit tight.

Had this tightness and dry mouth feeling in March last year, ambulance came and gave prednisolone and that helped, coughed out infection as well after that but couldn’t tell it was a chest infection because it never felt like previous infections I.e no wheeze so might have been covid then and now.

Could montelukast help with covid chest infection?

Hiya

montelukast works for me

Have taken every evening for more than 5 years

It is a vital part of my Asthma/COPD management

For me tight chest is a possible sign of a chest infection or worsening Asthma so a symptom of the illness rather than a side effect of medication

If worried or it worsens I would contact your GP or Asthma UK

I have taken monkelaust for 5 years. I take it for the allergic part of my asthma (house dust mite ). My asthma nurse said I would know it would work within 2 weeks. It did. I have no side effects I take it at night.

I've taken it for years (over 10) and have never had any problems. I take it at night and if I remember rightly it took a few weeks to kick in
