I have been asthmatic from 3 years of age, I am now 74 years of age and over the last couple of years my asthma has been getting worse. I have just finished another course of Clarithromycin and 5 days of prednisolone. I have been prescribed a Fostair 100/6 micrograms inhaler, and it has stopped my shortness of breath and wheezing but l have a permanent headache since starting this inhaler, has anyone had headaches with this inhaler?

Hi, I have been on Fostair for many years now with no side effects. Hopefully this is just short term while your body gets used to the medicine. It is a really effective medication.

Hi, I started on Fostair about a year ago and lead a normal life. I've generally not had any side effects I associated with the drug. I sometimes get a headache right at the crown of my head and wondered what that was but can't draw any conclusions. Are you sleeping okay, could you be getting some sleep apnea that causes a night time dip in O2 and a headache?

I’ve also been on the same one for the last year and it definitely helped me. No side effects fortunately so hopefully yours won’t be long lasting.

I'm on that same Inhaler and have been using it for about 3 years with no side effects. I'm 70yr old and have COPD, not asthma. Works fine for me, no complaints - except cramps in the legs, but not sure whether the Fostair is to blame or not.

I was diagnosed with asthma in June last year aged 76. Tried a few inhalers which all gave me adverse reactions. Fostair 200/6 is controlling my breathing very well but initially gave me an ice pick headache on the top right of my head. It did stop after a couple of weeks, I still get one occasionally & take a dose of paracetamol which eases it.

I wanted to reply to you as I am also 74 and was diagnosed with asthma when I was 2 years old. It’s difficult to explain to doctors what it was like growing up with asthma before inhalers.

After a long period when I was very healthy, my asthma has been getting worse again over the last few years and I have now been diagnosed with COPD. Fostair did not work for me - no headaches but did not help my breathing. After a few years on Symbicort and then Trixeo I have now been changed to Trimbow. It seems OK but still have to use my Ventolin almost daily. I’m not quite sure where to go from here as there are days when I’m really out of breath when I do anything.
