Hi, looking for any recommendations for a home nebuliser. I’m an asthma sufferer, not chronic but bad enough. Ventolin inhalers work for the most part but where I live it’s a 80 mile trip to renew my inhaler, sometimes they are out of stock. I live outside the UK, Ventolin are available in the pharmacies. If I have an attack without an inhaler, again 80 miles to the nearest hospital. So a home nebuliser is the way to go. Nebules are also available in the pharmacies.
Not looking for a portable, battery powered machine, a desktop, mains powered unit is fine. So far I’ve been told any Omron is good but I’m thinking I should be looking at the technical details, how much medicine I should be inhaling etc. So any information with regards to this would also help.
Thanks in advance.

Omron is very good. We had one and never had any issues. In the UK we would need the agreement from the family doctor to have a nebuliser at home as the nebules are only available on prescription.
Each nebule is equal to multiple doses of Ventolin, hence the need for doctor's oversight. The concern is that deterioration in the patient may require early hospital intervention but that can be delayed if the patient is dependent on the nebuliser.
Given the distances involved, a back up plan should be discussed with your asthma doctor.
Thank you, looks like Omron will gain a new customer.. guess I'll need to book a Dr appointment to work out the amount of nebule to use per session.
Here in South East Asia I dont get to have a dedicated asthma doctor, but I will contact some of the private hospitals to see if they have a dedicated respiratory department. To date all my doctor contact has been with a GP.
I've also got an Omron. I'm in the UK my ampules are prescribed by my GP. I found the mask with mine too hard and small albeit for an adult, so I purchased a soft one the same as used in hospitals here.
