Does fostair nexthaler canister needs to be shaken?

My question is as above. Just got a new prescription and noticed on the label it says shake well before use. I have not done it before as it is in powder form. Thanks

Hi, I had the same thing - noticed the instruction after years of using it! I asked the asthma nurse at hospital when she wanted to check how I was taking it, and she didn't seem to think it mattered but said I could if I wanted to - so have gone back to not bothering.

Thanks now I am aware of it I will try to shake it well before use when I remember.

I would imagine it does matter, I imagine the powder must settle and leave powder and carrier separate. I don’t use Fostair though.

Found this site for you and it doesn’t mention shaking it as far as I can see - might be worth contacting the manufacturer.

I think fruitandnutcase is right. There must be a reason the instructions read shake before use and hers/his sounds good enough. If it says shake then I'd definitely shake it. P

The instructions leaflet does not say to shake only the label Boots pharmacist . Will check with boots next time.
